Join facilitators Valerie Cherrin (Open Floor teacher) and John Oyzon (meditation teacher and musician) in this guided journey through the Open Floor meditation cycle with live music! This 3 hour dive will invite us to drop into the still center of our beings, so that we may move out into the world from that place. Working with our breath, our bodies, and the beat, we can find ourselves in a fuller state of aliveness.

Our bodies have their own intelligences. It is a gift to notice the sensations and urges in our physical being and to let them express themselves.
Join me as we apply some foundational meditation ideas to our moving bodies. There will be stillness and silence, and there will be live music and dope beats, and we will explore whether it is our mind that is steering our body, or the other way around.
We will do some simple meditations, use your voice to tone, and be on our feet to move in a free way. No dance experience required!
I will play my guitar, sitar, and drum, and a thoughtfully curated playlist to help you dance in a safe place free of judgement.
We will close with an extended savasana and sound healing.
This event will take place at Village Yoga in Sedona
Music gives wings to feelings.
Vibrations can influence mind states.
Supporting inner journeys of contemplation, or single pointed listening, sound can be the container that holds your awareness.
The fact of your presence influences the music, because the music is alive.
With good intentions of healing the world, we can heal ourselves.
Bring things to make you feel cozy and comfortable.
Relax and listen to multi-instrumentalist John Oyzon.
There will be sitar, chants, drones, and music.
Meditation and philosophy from the Tibetan Buddhist perspective
(as taught my a filipino musician guy)
Meditate with John.
We will also discuss the two main enemies of good meditation: dullness and agitation.
We may also touch on the basic "why" of meditation from the perspective of karma and wisdom.
There may also be some playing of the sitar while you stare at the back of your eyelids.

Movement and Song Workshops.
Create Dance. Create Music. Dance to Music.
There are those of us who are seeking magic. We are the ones who, when we hear music, are called to move our bodies. We are compelled to raise our voices in song and give voice to our hearts.
In this workshop, we will find movement that is natural to what is inside of us and we will shape it and share it. We will join our voices with chants that are easy to follow and we will notice how our inner world shifts. Together, we will create music and dance. And, with the help of each other, we will make magic. You don't need to be a dancer or singer. You need only to yearn to dance and sing. Experience what it is to move and have a voice without an inner critic. Open to ALL levels of movers and singers. Wear something that you feel comfortable moving in and that makes you feel special.
